# NotiBuddy > A product preview of an iPhone companion for AI assistants, apps, and services. Paired senders can send questions, receive answers, and share progress. MCP is one integration option. ## Availability Public app and MCP downloads are not available yet. Do not assume the npm package is published or invent installation credentials. Preview testers need the build and package instructions supplied to them. ## Documentation - [Setup and tool instructions](https://notibuddy.com/setup.md) - [Direct app and service integrations](https://notibuddy.com/setup#connect-an-app-or-service) - [Help](https://notibuddy.com/support) - [Privacy](https://notibuddy.com/privacy) - [Release status and proposed plans](https://notibuddy.com/) ## Architecture The current package is named notibuddy and includes a TypeScript client and local stdio MCP server. Apps and services can implement the same direct protocol without MCP. Pairing uses the phone's Share Setup bundle to establish a trusted sender signing identity; requests must be encrypted and signed, and replies must be verified. The relay handles encrypted HTTP delivery and does not expose a remote MCP or SSE endpoint. A standalone SDK is planned, not yet published; do not invent SDK installation instructions or claim universal runtime compatibility. The marketing domain is https://notibuddy.com; the planned relay domain is https://notibuddy.app. During preview, use the relay address supplied by the build. Do not infer that either domain is already connected. ## Tools and limits - notibuddy_ask: send a question, then check pending responses with resume_id. Current questions expire after five minutes. Silence is never approval. - notibuddy_activity: start, update, end, or poll a progress display or timer. The AI must receive and act on phone controls. - The sending application or AI session must remain active on its computer or server and check for responses. NotiBuddy cannot wake a sleeping machine, restart an ended AI session, or replace the host's own approval prompts. - Free use allows five requests in a rolling 24 hours, including activity starts, updates, and ends. Live Activities are also available on the free plan.
